ILEX Certificate in Law & Practice

The Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) is well respected and established profession with a history going back over 100 years and was recently granted a “Chartered” status. Legal executives are a recognised profession alongside solicitors and barristers. They may work in private practice or in industry undertaking a broad range of general legal work such conveyancing, civil and criminal litigation, employment and family law.

We offer the accelerated route to level 3 Certificate in Law & Practice. Students need to take three compulsory units introduction to law and practice, client care and legal research skills and two related electives such as:-

• Criminal Law & Criminal Litigation
• Contract Law or Law of Tort & Civil Litigation
• Land Law & Conveyancing
• Family Law & Family Law Practice

The compulsory units client care skills and legal research skills are assessed by written assignments in June and January each year when the electives are also examined by written examinations.
