Introduction to QLTS

The Qualified Lawyer Transfer Scheme (QLTS) enable lawyers qualified outside the EU to qualify as Solicitors with rights of practice in England & Wales.

QLTS candidates must obtain a certificate of eligibility to sit the QLTS by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) which is issued on recognised qualification as a lawyer in their home country and a fitness to practice confirmation.

QLTS comprises three parts or assessments. A multiple choice test (MCT) comprising of 180 questions, an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and a Technical Legal Skills Test (TLST).Candidates must pass the MCT before proceeding to the other assessments.

Candidates must pass the entire QLTS in a 5 year period and are permitted a maximum of 3 attempts at each assessment within the 5 year period.
